Leading with Integrity: A Vision for Worthington’s Future
Building Worthington’s Future
A Letter from the President
Real Leadership for Worthington’s Future
Dear Worthington Residents,
Every election shapes the kind of community we will become. This year’s City Council race is especially important because the choices we make now will determine how Worthington grows, how we manage our finances responsibly, and how we maintain the sense of belonging that makes our city so special.
As someone who has lived and worked alongside so many of you, I know how deeply our residents care about Worthington’s future. We need leaders who will listen with respect, collaborate with purpose, and lead with integrity. People who put community above politics and focus on solutions rather than division.
Over the past several months, I’ve had the opportunity to meet with these candidates personally and learn more about their goals for Worthington. Each one brings not only valuable experience but also a sincere desire to see our city reach its full potential. Their character, work ethic, and dedication to service reflect the best of what Worthington stands for.
That’s why I’m proud to highlight how the qualities of Joy Dong, Rebecca Hermann, Glen Pratt, and Maria Ramirez align with our organization’s mission and values and and how their approaches will positively impact the Worthington community through their leadership on City Council:
Joy Dong represents the best of Worthington’s spirit. A lifelong resident whose optimism and energy are matched by her compassion for others. Joy’s deep commitment to our city and her passion for supporting long tenured residents and businesses, support her belief that Worthington should be a community where people of all ages can thrive.
Rebecca Hermann, now completing her first term on Council, has proven herself to be a steady, experienced voice for accountability and thoughtful decision-making. She approaches issues with a clear understanding of Worthington’s finances, and an unwavering dedication to transparency.
Glen Pratt brings practical knowledge and a calm, confident leadership style. His grasp of our city’s infrastructure, public finance, and economic sustainability needs makes him a trusted advocate for responsible, forward-looking progress.
Maria Ramirez combines fiscal discipline with creative vision. Her background in urban planning and architecture helps her see how smart investments both can preserve Worthington’s history and support its long-term sustainability and vitality.
Together these candidates have a shared vision for diverse housing options, a strong local economy, and a connected community with all generations in mind.
These four candidates embody the leadership qualities that matter most; integrity, collaboration, accessibility, and fiscal responsibility. They share a genuine respect for residents, city staff, and believe in the process of building common ground. Most importantly, they have the foresight to make decisions that will strengthen Worthington for the next generation.
At a time when cities everywhere face challenges of growth and change, Worthington has the opportunity to show what thoughtful, values-driven leadership looks like. By electing leaders who listen, plan, and act with purpose, we can preserve what we love about our community while preparing it to thrive in the years ahead.
Your voice has the power to shape that future. I encourage every Worthington resident to learn about these candidates, ask questions, and make your plan to participate — as every vote truly matters. Together, we can ensure our city continues to grow thoughtfully, sustainably, and united in purpose.
Sincerely,
Sean Suttle
